120V or 240V hot tub wiring: the manufacturer controls

Some spas are designed for a 120-volt connection, while others require a 240-volt dedicated circuit. The nameplate, installation manual, and equipment configuration control the requirements. Circuit Masters does not select a voltage or amp size from a generic rule; we review the actual equipment and proposed installation.

A 120-volt tub may have different connection and circuit needs from a 240-volt tub. The difference can affect the panel, conductor routing, disconnecting means, equipment, and installation plan. Bring the manual to the estimate so the electrical scope matches the tub you are buying.

The route may involve exterior-wall work, conduit, a trench, crawl-space or attic access, or a combination of methods.
